For all of this, NRLC is in the best position to lead at this moment in time.Federal Pro-Life Policy RoadmapGiven the current composition of Congress, a national law protecting unborn children and their mothers from the tragedy of abortion is not likely to happen in the foreseeable future. But there are still many life-affirming policies that can be enacted at the federal level to offer protection. Public opinion surveys suggest the following policies can be boldly supported by elected officials in every part of the country:R estore full protections from taxpayer-funded abortionsO riginalist judicial appointments and confirmationsA lternative care and resources for new and expectant mothersD efend and advance conscience protections for healthcare workersM edical treatment safeguards for babies who survive failed abortion attemptsA bortion Pill regulations that protect women from these dangerous chemicalsP rotections for mom and baby, including parental notification, womens right to know, free ultrasound, and enactment of the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Act to care for babies born alive in attempted abortionIn addition to following its federal roadmap, NRLC will work closely with its state affiliates to pursue innovative protections for the pre-born and expand the safety net for women in need.
